MaRaCluster (Mass Rarity Cluster) groups fragment spectra from tandem mass spectrometry experiments, assigning importance to shared peaks according to their “rarity”. This can for example be used to isolate unidentified but reocurring fragment spectra across several runs. Typically, MaRaCluster reduces the number of fragment spectra that need to be searched by 1 order of magnitude while retaining high sensitivity on peptide level.
